Frasi didattiche pronunciate da uomini diversi, ma che insieme affrontarono una grande sfida; la lotta alla Mafia. Prima Falcone poi Borsellino erano arrivati ad un passo dalla verità, una verità che paradossalmente conoscono anche i bambini… I legami che coesistono tra Politica, Finanza e Criminalità. Perirono gli uomini e nacquero degli eroi. Forse sono un illuso, uno di quei tanti che sono convinti sia possibile cambiare il corso degli eventi. Ma è errato auspicare in realtà quella che ancora oggi è un’utopìa?

Attualmente la Mafia italiana è retta da 4 colonne portanti;

• Cosa Nostra
• ‘Ndrangheta
• Camorra
• Sacra Corona Unita

Casualmente queste organizzazioni criminali oggi, sono radicate in 4 regioni del Sud Italia, in un territorio che… Fino al 1860 era noto come Regno delle Due Sicilie. Ce ne sarebbero di temi da affrontare in merito, davvero tanti! Ma oggi mi limito a scrivere una storia di Camorra, una pagina sul Clan dei Casalesi. Tutto ebbe inizio alla fine di Agosto 2009, ero a casa mia, a Roma… Avevo ricevuto la telefonata di un amico e collega di Caserta, Elp Supra che mi invitava a dipingere nella sua città. Così dopo 1 settimana da quella telefonata; preparai la valigia, salii in macchina e partii alla volta di Caserta dove arrivai l’8 Settembre. Lavorammo a diversi progetti durante la mia permanenza, dipingendo tra Caserta e Napoli, poi… Dopo 6 giorni, Supra mi portò in una vecchia cava abbandonata da 15 anni e sottoposta a sequestro giudiziario. Eravamo in uno dei luoghi del Sistema, gli stessi descritti da Roberto Saviano nel suo Gomorra. Da alcuni dati emersi su Internet (http://appinter.csm.it/incontri/relaz/18979.pdf), sono risultate fuori notizie sconcertanti sulla “Cava Statuto” di San Prisco (CE). La cava è intestata ad una prestanome del Clan dei Casalesi, inoltre l’intera area è contaminata dall’enorme presenza di amianto. Una discarica a cielo aperto. Un danno ambientale di immani proporzioni, con qualche episodio di cronaca nera nel suo oscuro passato (http://www.casertanews.it/public/articoli/200803/art_20080307004132.htm). Questa è solo una delle tante cave abusive dislocate nel distretto di Caserta (http://www.napoliassise.it/assise10-06-2007.pdf); immaginate quel territorio affetto da un tumore ai polmoni, ci son buchi dappertutto. Eh si! Perchè è proprio di tumori che si parla in questo post. The Lancet Oncology, ha dichiarato in un suo articolo di qualche anno fa che nel territorio di Caserta, è stato registrato un aumento drammatico dell’8% di cancro ai polmoni e alle vie biliari, causato dallo smaltimento di rifiuti tossici provenienti da aziende del Nord Italia riversato in cave come questa e nei terreni agricoli circostanti, avvelenandoli. Il Clan dei Casalesi ha tratto un profitto di 500.000.000 di Euro da una sola di queste sporche operazioni. Pertanto se una vittima innocente dei Casalesi non cade sotto un torrente di fuoco, muore comunque di cancro (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangolo_della_morte_Acerra-Nola-Marigliano). Il politico, “l’uomo ombra” dei Casalesi al Governo ed anche il maggior responsabile dello smaltimento dei rifiuti tossici in Campania è stato l’On. Nicola Cosentino che dal 12 Maggio 2008 al 14 Luglio 2010 ricopriva la carica di Sottosegretario al Ministero dell’Economia e delle Finanze. Ma lo smaltimento dei rifiuti, non è che la punta dell’iceberg, alla base resta lo scempio di aver distrutto la natura (in questo caso una montagna sventrata), la morfologia è notevolmente mutata, ma in peggio. Un luogo spaventoso ma affascinante nello stesso tempo. Spaventoso per il degrado, e odore di morte che si respirava, affascinante invece per la presenza invitante di ciò che rimaneva delle vecchie strutture precedentemente installate; quelle betoniere che una volta divoravano la roccia e vomitavano cemento per la costruzione delle nostre belle case. Era il teatro perfetto dove rappresentare un’opera di denuncia, una massiccia azione di vendetta. Volevo che il mio fosse un atto di suprema giustizia in nome di tutta la scia di morti innocenti che la Camorra e le altre Mafie avevano perpetrato fino a questo momento. Il giorno stesso in cui terminai il progetto, non era un giorno come un altro. In quel 18 Settembre 2009 ricorreva il 1° Anniversario della Strage di Castel Volturno, di conseguenza è stata anche un’occasione per onorare la memoria di quei 6 africani, vittime ancora una volta innocenti della ferocia del Clan dei Casalesi. Credetemi se vi scrivo che abbiamo molto da imparare noi italiani dai fratelli africani. Loro che già nell’attimo in cui mettono piede in Italia con l’ottimismo e la speranza di un futuro migliore, portano sulle loro spalle il fardello di doversi integrare, condannati all’emarginazione del nostro razzismo, ciononostante mantengono intatta quella forza d’animo che io personalmente invidio. Ci hanno dato una lezione di vita, organizzando quella rivolta il giorno seguente alla strage, manifestando nelle strade di Castel Volturno la loro rabbia per i fratelli assassinati.

Il messaggio tuttavia che provo a comunicare è rivolto a quelle persone, agli abitanti di Caserta e provincia (anche a quei Casalesi onesti), che ancora oggi attaccano Roberto Saviano invece di ringraziarlo e supportarlo per ciò che ha fatto e sta ancora facendo. Saviano si è esposto in 1a linea sul fronte e portando a termine la sua crociata, si è rovinato la vita non solo per una parte ma per tutti gli oltre 60.000.000 di italiani. Non dimenticatelo mai! E’ però alle nuove generazioni, ai figli del 3° Millennio che dedico questo intervento di guerriglia al Sistema. Non inseguite i miti da evitare, non emulate camorristi e mafiosi per essere grandi uomini. Il grande uomo è colui che con onestà, fatica e determinazione, conquista un gradino sulla scala del mondo.

Teaching quotes, sentences spoken by different men, but together they faced an awesome challenge; the fight against Mafia. Falcone before, Borsellino after so they were come at one step from the truth, a truth which paradoxically kids also know… Connections that coexist between Politics, Finance and Criminality. Men were killed and heroes were born. Maybe i’m a silly man, one of many who are convinced that’s possible to change the course of events. But is wrong to hope into reality what’s still now an utopia?

Coincidentally today these criminal organizations, are rooted in 4 South Italy’s regions, around an area that… Until 1860 was known as Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. There should be issues to be analyzed about Mafia, but today i just write a Camorra story, a page on Casalesi Clan. It all started in the end of August 2009, i was to my home, in Rome… I received a phone call by a friend of mine and artist, Elp Supra invited me to paint in his city. So, 1 week after from call; i prepared the bag, i got into the car and i departed for Caserta where i arrived on September 8th. We worked to many projects during my permanence, painting between Caserta and Naples, then… After 6 days, we went in an old dismissed quarry from 15 years and subject to judicial seizure. We were in one of places of Sistema, the same places narrated in the best seller book  Roberto Saviano‘s Gomorrah. From some Web sources (http://appinter.csm.it/incontri/relaz/18979.pdf), revealed shocking news about “Statuto’s Quarry” in San Prisco (CE). This quarry is headed by a dummy of Casalesi Clan, furthermore the whole area is contaminated by asbestos. There’s an open dump. An environmental damage of huge proportions, with any crime episode in its dark past (http://www.casertanews.it/public/articoli/200803/art_20080307004132.htm), this is just one of many illegal quarries located in the district of Caserta (http://www.napoliassise.it/assise10-06-2007.pdf); trying to imagine this territory suffering by lung cancer, there are holes everywhere. Oh yes! Because in this post we talk about cancer. The Lancet Oncology, said a few years ago that around Caserta’s area, it was recorded an increase of 8% of lung tumor and bile duct, caused by the disposal of toxic waste from farms in North Italy poured in quarries like this and in the surrounding agricultural lands, poisoning. The Casalesi Clan got a profit of 500.000.000 €  from only one of these dirty operations. Therefore, if an innocent victim of the Casalesi doesn’t die under a torrent of fire, however, dies by cancer (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangolo_della_morte_Acerra-Nola-Marigliano). The politician, the “thin man” of Casalesi Clan into italian government and also the largest responsible for the disposal of toxic waste in Campania was the Hon. Nicola Cosentino from 12 May 2008 to July 14, 2010 held the position of Undersecretary to the Ministry of Economy and Finance. However, the disposal of waste, not just the tip of the iceberg, at the base remains the destruction of nature (in this case a gutted mountain), the morphology is significantly changed, but worse. A frightful but fascinating at the same time. Scary for degradation, and the smell of death that we breathed, but fascinating for inviting presence of the old structures that were previously installed, those mixers that once devoured the stone, and throwed up cement for the construction of our wonder homes. It was the perfect theater where it’s a work of denunciation, a massive act of revenge. I wanted get an act of supreme justice in the name of all innocent victims by Camorra and other mafias had committed. The day when i finished the project, it wasn’t a day like any other. On September 18th, 2009 was celebrated the 1st Anniversary of the Castel Volturno Massacre therefore was an opportunity to honor the memory of the 6 africans, once again innocent victims of the ferocity by Casalesi Clan. Believe me when i write that we italians have much to learn from africans brothers. They already in the moment they set foot in Italy with optimism and hope for a better future, they shoulder the burden of having to integrate, condemned the marginalization of our racism, yet keep intact the fortitude i personally envy. They gave us a life lesson, organizing the riot on the day following the massacre, demonstrating in the streets of Castel Volturno them anger for the brothers murdered.

The message that i want to communicate is for those people, the citizens of Caserta district (also to those honest Casalesi), that still today attack Roberto Saviano instead to give him thank and support about what he has done and is still doing. Saviano is exposed in the 1st line on the front and completing his crusade, he has complicated his life non only for a part but for all over 60.000.000 of italians. Never forget it! But is for new generations, to all sons of the 3rd Millennium that i want dedicate this guerrilla action against Sistema. Don’t follow the myths to avoid, don’t emulate the mobsters to be great men. Honesty, hard work and determination are the elements to be a great man, to score one step upside stairway of the world.
